FAQS

Browse our FAQs below; we’ve covered the most common ones, but if you don’t find what you’re looking for, then feel free to get in touch with us!

Shipping

We send our online orders out with Tracked next day delivery between Monday-Thursday. We don’t send out orders on a Friday so that they’re not disrupted by weekend service. There might sometimes be delays to our orders during warmer weather as we want to make sure your chocolate arrives safely. Of course if there are delays to your order for any reason, we’ll keep you updated every step of the way.

Of course you can! If you leave a message in the ‘Order Notes’ at the bottom of the Checkout page, we’ll write a handwritten note to include inside your order.

All of our online orders are sent via a Tracked service with DPD, and you should be sent tracking details via email once your order has been processed. Get in touch with us if you can’t find your tracking details, and we’ll be more than happy to do some detective work for you.

We’re really sorry to hear this! Please let us know within five working days of receiving your order if this is the case. You can contact us via email or give us a call, and we’ll try to get it rectified for you as quickly as we can.

We can’t accept returns if they have been opened (or half eaten!) unfortunately. Items can’t be returned without prior agreement. If you think that there is a quality issue, then please do get in touch with us. From there, we can then offer guidance on a case by case basis and potentially offer you a replacement or a refund.

SOURCING OUR INGREDIENTS

Yes we are! Every year we renew our certification and undergo an audit with OF&G.

99% of our ingredients are certified organic! And if they’re not certified, then they are either organically grown or ethically sourced.

We are beyond fairtrade! We are not Fairtrade certified by choice because we believe that we have found a better solution for our farmers. We pay on average around 150% above what is deemed acceptable by Fairtrade standards for our cacao. If you’d like to learn more, then check out this blog post for information on our sourcing and pricing.

Because firstly, it’s believed to be a low GI sweetener, which has been linked to lower sugar spikes than conventional cane sugar. Secondly, we really like the flavour! It adds really nice caramel notes to our chocolate.

All of our products apart from our Flapjacks and Cocoa IPA Malted Barley chocolate bar are gluten free. Whilst our flapjacks are made with oats that are not gluten free, the main point of potential cross-contamination is the IPA bar, which goes into the same tempering machine as the rest of our chocolate.

We “flush” the tempering machine with gluten-free chocolate after each production in order to remove any potential traces of gluten left behind. But it’s still possible that there is a risk of gluten due to the nature of flushing the equipment, which is why we include “may contain traces of gluten” and “made in an environment that contains gluten” on our products.

Lucuma is a Peruvian fruit which is really high in antioxidants, traditionally used as a superfood but also can be used as a natural sweetener. However, we use it as an alternative to milk powder to make our chocolate nice and creamy.

Shelf life OF OUR PRODUCTS

All our shelf life testing is done in house through both ambient and refrigerated trials.

Our products range from 3 months for some of our fresh baked goods such as our brownies, to two years for our ceremonial cacao.

ORDERING AT WHOLESALE

If you are a shop, a hamper company, a café, you’re running an event or you’re looking to place a corporate order, then yes! Please get in touch with us for further details and we’ll be happy to help you.

We send our online orders out with a tracked next day courier service between Monday-Thursday. Our orders are collected at 3pm every day so if you place an order with us before 11.30am, it can be packed by our team and sent out the same day for next day delivery. We don’t send out orders on a Friday so that they are not disrupted by weekend service.

Cacao originS

Generally, 95% of our cacao is sourced using brokers. Radek also goes on sourcing trips to build relationships directly with the farmers, which we then purchase through a broker.

OUR Packaging

Our packaging is FSC Certified and uses vegetable-based inks. It’s also produced just over the road from our kitchen, so it travels to us without any emissions!

No! Whilst it looks a little like conventional plastic, our inner packaging is made from non-GMO wood pulp cellulose. It means that it’s completely home compostable.

ABOUT CBD OIL

CBD oil is a food supplement rich in cannabinoids and terpenes, which help to bring balance to our bodies and minds by interacting with the endocannabinoid system in our bodies. The benefits of CBD oil are wide and varied and it is sold legally in the UK as a food supplement. The World Health Organisation stipulates that CBD oil is non-toxic, non-addictive and non-psychoactive.

Everyone is different; everyone’s body is different. As a result everyone reacts to CBD differently. Some of us are naturally much more sensitive to CBD than others.

With CBD it is important to start with a small dose and build it up slowly. Discover how your body reacts to CBD for a few days before increasing the dose. Some people only need about a small amount of CBD per day, whereas others find that they might require up to 70mg per day which is the maximum recommended daily dose.

A good rule of thumb is to divide your body weight in kilos by 2 and take that number of milligrams of CBD per day. For example: if you weigh 70 kilos then you can start by taking 35mg of CBD per day. You may find that you need to increase the dose from there to get the desired effects.

Bristol CBD’s CBD oil is extracted from organically grown hemp sativa which has been cultivated far away from main roads, with no pesticides or chemicals. Their growers use natural methods to nurture the soil and they hand-harvest the buds and flowers before carefully extracting the CBD oil. Their CBD oil is also suitable for vegans and is lactose free and non-GMO.

The CBD oil we use in our bars is extracted using a combination of cold pressing and natural enzyme extraction methods.

This method refers to a gentle, natural extraction process often used for plant-based oils or concentrates. Enzyme-assisted extraction involves using specific natural enzymes to help break down plant cell walls, which makes it easier to release beneficial compounds—such as terpenes, flavonoids and cannabinoids without the need for high heat or harsh solvents.

Once the cell structure is loosened, cold pressing is used to extract the material. This means applying mechanical pressure at low temperatures (typically below 49°C) to preserve the integrity of sensitive compounds. Heat can degrade many of the delicate nutrients, antioxidants, or flavour compounds, so this low-impact method helps retain purity, potency, and natural flavour.

ABOUT Lion’s Mane

Lion’s Mane is believed to have a great effect on brain function, focus and digestion.

Lion’s Mane is a saprophytic mushroom with a long history of use in traditional healing protocols, as well as being of great importance to the Yamabushi Buddhist monks of Japan for defence and as a tool for clarity during meditation. The benefits of this widely revered functional mushroom have been utilised and continually studied for centuries.

Yes – The Lion’s Mane that we use is from Bristol Fungarium, who grow it on their organic mushroom farm, meaning origin can be traced back to one location with absolutely no tampering by third parties. Their Lion’s Mane mushroom can even be traced back to its original growing location 500 meters from their farm!

No! Only a select range of our products contain Lion’s Mane. You can find our range of Lion’s Mane-infused products here.
