Originally founded in 2004, Café Femenino was created by a group of 464 female coffee producers in Peru to create a more equitable trading platform in the coffee growing industry. Now this collective can be found in nine countries, and it’s able to support thousands of women farmers across the world. This particular coffee origin was grown by a collective of 800 women – and we’ve hand selected it to perfectly complement and accentuate the deep rich flavours that can be found in our cacao. These beans have a sweet fruitiness to them, with discernible notes of blackcurrant, chocolate, and almonds.
This coffee has been expertly roasted by our friends at Wogan Coffee – the smart cookies who also roast the coffee we use to create our Almond Mocha bars. We’ve spent our Summer using this coffee in our festival café, and the feedback we’ve received has been so overwhelmingly lovely that we wanted to be able to offer it to you too.
Just like our passion for cacao, we believe that coffee is about connection – and not just a connection with the people you serve it to, but with the people that grow it as well. We’ve picked this particular coffee not only for its beautiful flavour notes, but for its amazing backstory too.
